I lost my uncle to epilepsy, he swallowed his tongue when he had a seizure. His 10 year old son found him dead. Please support epilepsy, there’s more problems than you think.

I started with epilepsy when I was about 12. It was the ‘grand mal’
(severe) sort, but they have managed to get it under control by a
combination of drugs. I haven’t had a seizure for some years now…

I am a mom of a son who got viral meningitis at 6 months old and could have died but he toughed it out and it left him with epilepsy and raising him, being helpless to his seizures and dealing with tons of medical issues made me stronger than I thought I could ever be. But my son is stronger than anyone I know. He is 21 years old and is now facing how to be a productive man in this fast paced and demanding society and doing what young men should be able to experience and achieve. Issues of health insurance and a tolerant employer who can deal with him missing work due to migraines or a seizure are a concern now. When he was younger it was having friends, not feeling alone and lonely, and healing physical issues made his childhood harder than most. Epilepsy is a tough disease that flows in and out and being illusive and then right in your face … and nowhere to rest your laurels on makes one tired and feeling powerless and out of control. I am so sad to hear of the loss of Roxxi’s uncle. It is that bad of a disease!! To learn of others facing this personally or through a loved one or family member like Anne and Colin is helpful to know … yes, we are not alone and there is support out there. All we have to do is reach out and share our stories. Bless one and all afflicted with this disease.

I have a good friend who either has severe Epilepsy or a brain tumor, and he’s recently been having really bad seizures, one throwing out his shoulder. He’s been getting CAT scans, but the results haven’t come back yet, so pray for good results. I’m so glad someone thought up this great idea to spread the word a little more about Epilepsy. Hopefully I can help my friend get through this, but thanks for such an awesome band idea!

Hi i’m 15, and my mom has had epilepsy since she herself was 15. She has petite mal seizures her whole life. She actually had a seizure while i was being born. Please, please support this cause. More people need to learn and be aware of what this does to people. How it affects people’s lives. Thank you so much for this website band!!

i know lotz of people have epilepsy, and most people don’t relize how severe and dangerous it can be. I don’t know anyone myself who has epilepsy, but my dog had it. I know for my old dog having it is a lot different than if one of my human family members had it, but it still effected me a lot. We had to put him down after he was having grand mal seizures for 24 hours about 30 minutes apart, with what would have been a lethal amount of medication in his system. We never found out what caused his epilepsy, but it was common in the breed he was most. I cried the hardest I had and have ever when I woke up and my dad told me what we were having to do. When I hear something shaking, I always think of him.

I support all these bands - they help spread awarness to people - some of the people who find these pages where rude, nasty, mean, horrible people, but when they find sites like this it softens them and changes them to better people - these bands have more than one purpose.

My mum has epilepsy and she cant drive. I end up taking care of her alot of the time. I love my mom. We need to find an efficiant CURE not a drug that stimulates the chemicals

my dads friend had epilepsy! her dad didnt care for her and she got raped in there own house and he was on the couch! hes an alchoholic and druggy.
